Procedendo verso Paphos ci fermiamo a Petra tou Romiou dove, secondo la mitologia greca, Aphrodite emerse dalla schiuma delle acque .Cominceremo la nostra giornata visitando il monastero di Ayios Neofytos fondato alla fine del XII secolo dallo scrittore ed eremita cipriota Neofytos. La Engleistra contiene alcuni dei piu’ bei affreschi bizantini (XII e XV secolo). Proseguiremo per visitare le Tombe dei Re che risalgono al IV secolo a.C, ricavate nella roccia e decorate con delle colonne doriche. Quindi potremo ammirare i famosi mosaici della casa di Dioniso. I pavimenti di queste ville patrizie risalgono ad un periodo tra il III e il V secolo d.C e sono considerati tra i piu belli mosaici del Mediterraneo orientale. Visiteremo successivamente L'ultima fermata si terra’ alla chiesa della Panagia Chrysopolitissa, costruita nel XIII secolo, all'interno del cui complesso si puo’ vedere la colonna di San Paolo, dove secondo la tradizione il santo venne flagellato. Quest’ultimo apparteneva ai Cavalieri di San Giovanni di Gerusalemme ed era la sede della più importante Centrale di Comando tra quelle ad essi facenti capo. Per qualche anno, nel XIV secolo, fu sotto il controllo dei Cavalieri Templari. L’area produceva ed esportava, inoltre, il tradizionale vino dolce di Cipro, divenuto noto come “Vin de Commanderie”, o Commandaria. Questo è uno dei più antichi vini “a denominazione” del mondo, avendo portato lo stesso nome per otto secoli. Raggiungeremo quindi Curium, importante città-stato, oggi uno dei luoghi archeologici piu’ importanti dell'isola.
